– President Buhari vows to fulfill campaign promises despite the challenges

 – Reveals ways of fulfilling the promises

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed doubts over his ability to fulfill his campaign records. Buhari, who was made this shocking declaration during the graduation ceremony of Course 24 of the National Defence College, Abuja, noted that he would fulfill the promises he made before becoming president, but admitted that it would be a tough task. “Let me assure you all that this administration is committed to bequeathing to this nation, a new orientation in leadership that will be service-driven and committed to the realisation of its promises to the electorates. “We are however not under any illusions that this task is an easy one. “But we have put our trust in God knowing that with hard work and sound vision, we will triumph,” he was quoted to have said. President Buhari also spoke about the issue of Fulani herdsmen and farmers’ clashes. He said: “Also, on the matter of Herdsmen/Farmers clashes, I wish to state that this Administration will not tolerate or condone acts of banditry and criminality, under any guise. As such, our security agencies have been mandated to deal with such acts decisively. “Let me state that this Administration has been working assiduously in conjunction with our local and international partners, to rebuild damaged communities in North East part of our country. Similarly, we are committed to tackling the issues of underdevelopment and neglect in the Niger Delta area. One of such criticisms came from controversial Catholic priest Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, who sent a strong message to the president in a recent sermon. Father Mbaka blasted the incumbent president over the economic hardship destroying the country resulting from what he defined as poor leadership under the Buhari-led government. He stated that the president should know that Nigerians may vote him out in the next presidential election. The preacher said that Nigerians are clearly getting tired continuing that he campaigned against the ex-president Goodluck Jonathan because of the extensive corruption in the last administration in the hope that Buhari’s government would be better after his avowed declaration to fight corruption.
