 - Family member Vanguard reports that Okorocha who is the chairman of the APC governors forum however, noted that Buhari could seek the mandate of the party for his re-election as stipulated in the constitution. Speaking with reporters on Thursday, November 2, after meeting with President Buhari at the presidential villa, the governor advocated for democratic process to be followed in the nomination of APC candidates in all categories of position.
The Nation reports that the governor stated that the president was looking healthy. He said: "The gentleman is looking much more handsome than even before he went to hospital; he is looking stronger and so, he has every right and qualifications to re-contest, there is nothing wrong at all. “But, we don’t allow imposition of candidate. It must be democratically done.

"If President Buhari will lead the ship in 2019, it must be democratically done, and I said, democratically done, transparently (done) to the amazement of the whole world, the way we do our things in APC and people will be happy." According to The news Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Governor Rochas Okorocha said President Buhari would embark on tour of southeast states beginning with Ebonyi to improve the relationship between the region and the All Progressives Congress-led federal government.

"The South-east before now was not measuring in APC. But we have worked out strategies and modalities on how to improve relationship between the people of South-east and APC government. “That was top on the agenda and the need for Mr. President to come to South-east as quickly as possible, to begin to show his presence. “Luckily, the President will be coming to Ebonyi State very soon and he will pass through Imo State to Anambra State. So, covering three states within this short time will be right step in the right direction.

“We have come to realise in the South-east that we are better off in APC than any other party in the federal republic of Nigeria," he said. In other news, Governor Okorocha had said the Peoples Democratic Party members are getting fattened under the All Progressive Party (APC)-led administration. Daily Trust reports that Okorocha made this known in a brief interview he granted journalists on Tuesday, October 31, during the APC National Executive Committee (NEC). He said although the president had so far resisted pressures to sack members of the PDP inherited from the previous government.
