No Record Of Diezani's Arrest - London Source

A police spokesman in London has said he had no record the arrest ofNigeria’s former oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, Reuters reports.

Report had surfaced this evening, October 2, that Alison-Madueke had been arrested in London, alongside four other Nigerians, in connection with bribery and corruption allegations.

Not long after that, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided her house in Asokoro, Abuja, and sealed the property.

The Presidency has however, refused to comment on Diezani’s arrest in London.

Alison-Madueke was minister from 2010 until May 2015 under the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, who was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari at the 2015 general elections. Some Nigerians are of the opinion that her arrest may not be unconnected with the new government.
