Suspected assassins yesterday murdered a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Shalewa Daramola, in Amuwo Odofin local government area of Lagos state.
The deceased was gunned down at 3rd avenue ‘K’ close, Festac Town, where members of his party were sharing Sallah gift when the incident occurred, Vanguard reports.
The late Daramola, who was the Assistant Treasurer of the APC in the locality reportedly went to check his car when one of the gunmen, emerged from an adjourning close demanding for money.
After Daramola told him he had no money. The gunman, believed to be in his 20s fired Daramola four times, at close range before he jumped into a waiting motorbike which sped off.
Daramola was rushed to the local government primary health centre, from where he was referred to another hospital in Festac Town. But died on his way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the national leadership of the APC has informed Nigerians to expect what the party terms “shocking revelations” about the immediate past government of Goodluck Jonathan.
